To mark its 10th store in the Philippines, California Pizza Kitchen (CPK Phlippines) celebrate it with newly revamped interiors and new additions to the menu. Handled by Global Restaurants Concept Inc., California Pizza Kitchen opened its door to cater to its patrons located at The Fort, Bonifacio Global City.
Since it's first branch that opened in 1998 at Glorietta, California Pizza Kitchen still is among the pizza restaurant chains that dishes out great tasting pizza that Filipino love. During the opening of it's 10th store, we were able to try some of the new additions to the menu and experience great ambiance at CPK.
Suggestive of California ambiance, CPK's interior boasts of laid back and comfortable feat where diners could enjoy their meals and relax. I wasn't able to capture photos of their The Fort branch because the place was so jam packed during my visit so I'll just reserved that on my future posts when I get to visit them again sometime soon. Menawhile, here are the dishes we enjoyed during the launching.
I am not big on crunchy stuff when it comes to my food but CPK's Thai Crunch Salad (P560/full, P325/half) was a different story. Its interesting texture coupled with really nice flavor hinting of citrus were pleasing to the palate in such a way that could only be understood once it hit your palate. You got to try this for yourselves to know what I mean. I promise it will be worth it.
Very light in flavor, Asparagus and Spinach Spaghettini (P575/family) is perfect for those who doesn't want their palate overwhelmed so much flavor. The generous asparagus and spinach were delightful but I would rather have it a tad flavorful than it is.
Another new addition to the menu which I really enjoyed to bits was the Cheese Steak Sandwich (Php450). USDA tender steak strips with button mushrooms, onions, Mozzarella, and queso quesadilla cheeses, served with au jus and french fries on the side. It's not the usual cheese steak I am used to but it was equally satisfying flavor-wise.
When we were served the Italian Sausage and Pepperoni Calzone (Php485) it was the roasted garlic bulb that I noticed first. Apparently, the garlic was added to suit Filipino palate because it blends perfectly well with the calzone.
Packed with spicy Italian sausage, pepperoni and mozzarella cheese, this calzone is best eaten with the provided tomato sauce on the side and some cloves of garlic.
I am not really crazy about anything with anchovies but CPK's Anchovy Pizza (Php575) fits the bill for me. The flavor didn't overpower the entire deal, rather it just adds interesting flavor that went perfectly well with the tomatoes and cheese. It is best enjoyed with a drizzle of lemon on top.
Caramel Hazelnut Cake (Php225) and Hot Fudge Sundae (Php275) were served for our dessert. The cake was downright rich and really filling in its size, while the sundae on the other hand remains to be the favorite among the many.
It is really impressive that all through out the years since California Pizza Kitchen was introduced to us, they still on top of its game in providing great tasting food, impressive service, and comfortable ambiance to Filipino diners. And its great to know that as the years progressed, they are still doing their best to improve in all aspect they can think of to satisfy their customers' needs. With the kind of satisfaction I am getting whenever I dine at CPK, I am looking forward to more branches to open in the future.
