Early last year, world renowned US based casual dining restaurant P.F. Chang's China Bistro opened its first branch in the Philippines located in Alabang Town Center. Since then, foodies from around the metro especially those from up north traveled all the way to south just to experience the great dining fare at P.F. Chang's. This year, they finally opened their second branch located at The Fort, Bonifacio Global City.
To celebrate the opening of P.F. Chang's The Fort branch, a media launch was held to showcase P.F. Chang's beautifully constructed abode in the area and to sample great tasting dishes which are known to be some of their best sellers.
P.F. Chang's The Fort branch exudes an ambiance that reflects a beautiful blend of a classic Chinese design and modern bistro. Hand-painted Chinese murals peppered the place as well as the distinctive Statues of terracotta warriors and horses. This 150-seater restaurant boasts of two private function rooms, cocktail tables and a 12-seater high table for groups who wants to enjoy P.F. Chang's bar offerings.
During the media launching, we sampled some of their familiar best sellers which up to now still gather raves from foodies who have tried their offerings.
Dynamite Shrimp (Php365) which is known for its zesty flavor with a kick of spiciness is always a beautiful start. Crab Wontons (Php395) are crispy wonton wrappers filled with mixture of crab meat, bell peppers, onions, ginger, and garlic served with plum sauce on the side. It's creamy filling is a perfect combination with the crisp texture of the wrapper that when dip in plum sauce, an explosion of flavor should be expected. Freshly handmade Pork Dumpling (Php165) is also a treat in the palate, it is still one of the best dumplings I have ever tried.
One of the best dishes that P.F. Chang's is known for is their famous Chang's Chicken Lettuce Wrap (Php395). They say that you have not been to P.F. Chang's if you have not tried it yet, so, it is definitely one of the dishes that one should not miss.
Wok-seared ribs in special Asian barbecue sauce is what Chang's Spare Ribs (Php750) is all about. It's juicy and tender meat is something any meat lover would definitely appreciate. The special Asian barbecue sauce carries the taste of the usual smoky barbecue flavor with a distinct oriental taste that made it all the more palatable.
If you are into seafood then, P.F. Chang's Seared Ahi Tuna (Php285) is not to be missed. Munching on these chilled sushi-grade ahi tuna served with mixed greens and spicy mustard vinaigrette is a beautiful way to introduce your palate to a fresh flavor hinting of the sea. I am very picky when it comes to my tuna and I must say that P.F. Chang's rendition of it is the best one I have tried.
Shrimp with Candied Walnuts (Php560/small, Php885/regular) is one dish that is distinctly P.F. Chang's. The combination of flavor is remarkably interesting and satisfying while the play on texture is delightful. The distinct taste of the shrimp goes perfectly well with the sweetness of the honey dew melon and the creamy sauce.
P.F. Chang's Mongolian Beef (Php795) boasts of 12oz tender US Angus beef wok-cooked and tossed with scallions and garlic. The meaty taste of the beef in its sweet savory goodness is equally impressive as its tenderness.
Chang's Spicy Chicken (Php350) is a dish made of stir fried tender chicken breast in tangy sauce hinting of sweet and spicy flavor. The simplicity in its look does not translate the impressive flavor and tenderness of the dish, so do not be deceived.
P.F. Chang's Lo Mein (Php225) may look like your usual noodle dish, but this stir fried egg noodle with mushroom, bean sprout, jicama, carrots, celery, and onions is definitely way tastier because it carries the distinct asian flare of a flavor that P.F. Chang's is known for.
For those who fancy vegetarian dishes, P.F. Chang's dishes out impressive line and one of them is Sichuan Style Asparagus (Php290). Wok-fried in Sichuan preserves, onion, and chili paste, this dish is palatable even for those who are meat lovers.
Although known for dishing out delectable dishes, P.F. Chang's also takes pride in serving great desserts to cap off a great meal. Sample their Great Wall of Chocolate Cake and be in awe at how big the serving is. This moist chocolate cake is served on a bed of raspberry sauce that added extra flair to the already remarkable chocolate cake.
Also not to be missed is their Banana Spring Roll with scoop of Banana Pineapple Ice Cream. The spring roll is given a new dimension by adding the ice cream which reminded me of pina colada I love.
Aside from these delectable dishes, diners can enjoy P.F. Chang's Signature Cocktail Drinks which price ranges for only Php150 to Php200. Order them with their appetizers and then you can expect happy hour at its finest.
Impressive line of drinks from fruit juices to cocktail drinks can be enjoyed at P.F. Changs and the photos below are just some of them.

Ever since P.F. Chang's opened its door for Filipino palates, people have been wanting for them to put up another branch nearer to their respective places. This opening of the second branch may still be far from the people of the north but still it is a welcome addition to the great line of restaurants at The Fort Bonifacio Global City. For sure, with the great dishes that P.F. Chang's dishes out, people are still looking forward for further expansion and branching out.
