Burger Company located at Scout Reyes in Quezon City is the resurrected version of the now defunct Boulevard Diner. Considered as one of the best burger joints in Manila by some of the best food bloggers I know, the demise of the later mentioned burger place came as a sad news. Good thing though that the burger experts decided to make a come back, hence, The Burger Company.
The changed in name signifies fresh start to a much better grind in serving best burgers anyone can enjoy here in Manila. Suffice it to say, at Burger Company, you can expect great burgers in good company.
Burger Company's ambiance is suggestive of a trailer truck but spacious. Outside there is creative wall art while inside is peppered with enticing food photos decorating the wall and a separate corner where interesting knick knacks, board games, and a wall full of post-its dedication written by satisfied customers.
Burgers are grilled upon order to assure freshness. The grilling station is situated in front of the restaurant where diners can take a peek on how the magic actually happens.
Burger Company's menu is a combination of great burger variants and other notable dishes that goes perfectly with burgers. The beef patties are made of 1/3 pound pure Certified Angus Beef (C.A.B.) burger sandwiched in between homemade buns, so it is without a doubt that these babies are of high quality. That burger luncheon with my foodie friends was a feast of great burgers and then some.
Gorgonzola and Bacon Burger (Single Php209/ Double Php325) - 1/3 pound char grilled pure Certified Angus Beef burger topped with lettuce, cheddar cheese, bacon, and gorgonzola dressing. This was my choice during the lunch and while a two-patty serving is enticing, I thought the single patty was good enough even for an appetite as big as mine.
Gorgonzola and Mushroom Burger (Single Php199/Double Php315) - this burger is basically made of the same mix as with the Gorgonzola and Bacon but instead of the bacon, it has sauteed mushroom. Equally tasty and filling, especially those who has deep affinity with mushroom.
BBQ Slaw Burger (Single Php199/Double Php315) - this gorgeous burger is made up of 1/3 pound char grilled pure Certified Angus Beef burger topped with lettuce, cheddar cheese, bacon, coleslaw, and barbecue sauce. The photo shown above is a two-patty serving making it more handsome and manly. The combination of coleslaw and barbecue sauce was notable that it steeled my resolved to have it on my next visit.
New York Buffalo Chicken Burger (Single Php185/Double Php249) - thus non-beef burger is made up of fried chicken fillet with your choice of wing sauce topped with cheddar cheese, bacon, gorgonzola dressing. Burger Company has a different line of Chicken Burgers to cater to their diners who prefer chicken than beef.
Bacon & Egg Burger (Single P205/Double P319) - 1/3 pound chargrilled pure Certified Angus Beef burger topped with lettuce, cheddar cheese, bacon, fried egg, braised chipotle, and crisp shoestring potato. This burger can be a great breakfast burger, or something anyone can enjoy all day.
The Striker's Burger (Php239 Single/Php355 Double) - 1/3 pound chargrilled pure Certified Angus Beef burger topped with lettuce, cheddar cheese, bacon, crisscut fried, champignon mushroom, and cheese sauce. This macho burger is not for the faint of heart. Loaded with protein and carbo, I could say that it is definitely one of the best variants that Burger Company offers.
B.O.B. Burger (Single Php195/Double Php309) - 1/3 pound chargrilled pure Certified Angus Beef burger topped with lettuce, cheddar cheese, bacon, barbecue sauce, and onion shreds. This burger is equally impressive. I love that the onions were slightly caramelized contributing its innate sweetness to the whole deal.
Aside form burger variants, Burger Company takes pride in serving other dishes equally well-worth the rave. Take for instance their Rib Eye Steak (Php350). For its affordable price, this 8 Oz. USDA Choice Ribeye Steak is a bang for your buck. Served with garlic mashed potato and buttered vegetables, this Rib Eye steak can easily feed two person or just one hungry me.
Perfect companion to the burgers are fries, hence Burger Company serves different kinds. Two of them are American Fries (Php55/solo, Php90/sharing, Php135/party) and CrissCut Fries (Php60/solo, Php95/sharing, Php140/party).
If feeling more adventurous than settling for the usual fries, Bacon-Jalapeno Fritters (Php215/6pcs, Php320/9pcs) can be a great option. Made up of deep-fried bacon-wrapped breaded jalapeno stuffed with cream cheese served with salsa, these crisp little wonders are great extremely flavorful and satisfying even for those who is not a fan of spicy stuff like me.
Burger Company also serves mean Buffalo Wings of different sauce flavors. Classic series of sauce includes New York Classic, Firefighter's Pride, El Nino, and Global Warming. The names are dead giveaway that each represents the level of spiciness. BBQ series of flavors includes Louisiana, A&W, and Mexican.
Signature series on the other hand includes Caribbean Surf, Chili and
Lime, Smokes Chili, Cocoa and Chili, Salt and Vinegar, and Asian
Samurai.
Burger Company's NY Buffalo Wings can be ordered in three different serving portions; Bantan Weight has 6pcs. chicken wings on it is priced at Php135, Medium Weight has 10pcs and is priced at Php195, while the Heavy Weight which boasts of 14pcs chicken wings is priced at Php260 only.
Another great accompaniment to burgers is Burger Company's Nacho Overload (Php195/Php290). I am a big fan of Mexican food, hence I find this treat really enjoyable.
Burger Company's menu also has line of desserts on it, albeit limited. We've tried their Chocolate Chocnut Mousse Cake (Php100) which was a great way to cap off our feast.
Not to be missed when dining at Burger Company are the variety of Milkshakes (php125) they offer. Flavors currently available are strawberry, vanilla, chocolate, and chocnut. Imported sodas are also available alongside local ones and other refreshments.
Having tried variants of burgers at Burger Company, I wouldn't wonder if they can be easily included as one of the best burger joints in Manila although they just opened August of this year. The same impressive magic that made Boulevard Diner a hit way back is still ever present as it revived in a form of equally celebrated, Burger Company. With a lot of burger stands and restaurants opening up these days, real good quality burgers that is well worth your hard earned money is still hard to come by. Good thing that in Quezon City, there is Burger Company, a welcome addition to my list of favorites.
