Our first meal during our weekend staycation at B Hotel in Alabang was at Prime Café. We were invited to partake of their Friday Lunch Buffet right after checking in to our respective suites and rooms. We came from a long drive from Rizal area to Alabang and we're happy upon knowing that we will be feasting on a spread of good choices of food.
Prime Café is the in-house restaurant of B Hotel that can house 64 person. Located at the ground floor of the hotel, Prime Café which is open from 6am to 11pm from Monday to Saturday, and 6am to 10pm during Sundays, serves breakfast buffet in the morning, ala carte dishes all day, and come Wednesday to Friday, it turns into Prime Bistro where guests may enjoy cocktail drinks and good food while enjoying acoustic band.
Prime Café's Friday Lunch Buffet is priced at Php 600+ net. for adults and Php300+ net.for kids ages 6 to 12. Drinks are not included on the buffet rate good thing though that those were also affordable compared to other hotels that sells drinks meant to create a hole in your pocket. We were told that Prime Café uses quality organic ingredients for their dishes and menu varies every six months.
At a glance the buffet spread may seem rather limited. The entire choices basically occupies the ling stretch of table shown on the photo below. But when you tasted the dishes, you would know that you need not an overwhelming number of dishes when everything here is of high quality.
Given the choices, I was able to try majority of it and everything was really impressive. Take for example the crisp onion rings which batter was flavorful in itself and the seafood ceviche which made me crave for a cold glass of beer.
There were some salad of organic greens and two types of rice; steamed and fried.
The Pork Belly Tamarind Soup may look unappealing at a glance but I have to be honest that although I avoid rice when feasting on buffet, this made me go back to the spread and grab a cup of steamed rice for myself. It was actually my friend Rina's Rainbow who told me that this dish should not be missed. She's so right!
The Baked Alfredo Pasta was also good since the cheese on top was so generous. I love the bite of the cheese that it brought to the dish.
The Lechon was also the star of the spread. The skin was so crisp and the meat, flavorful it does not call for a sauce.
There's also Grilled Fish which goes perfectly well with the Chef's Special Sauce. The heirloom tomatoes were great accompaniment to it especially when you mashed amd mixed it with the fish.
The Prime Barbecue Chicken was also impressive. I love the smokey flavor and the juiciness of the meat.
Now while I was deeply impressed with the Pork belly Tamarind, Prime Café's Signature Sisig was equally well worth the rave. It was spicy since it was peppered with those scary chopped chili, but the meat was just so falvorful, i didn't mind having to deal with the spicy kick.
The dessert features bite size cakes, brownies, leche flan, buko salad, and fruits. I didn't got the chance to try the cakes since the leche flan I got was more than enough.
Honestly, I could consume more than what I had feasted on (two plates) but since we were informed that we still have to go to Chairman Wang's at Molito to have a feast of Prime Beef Noodles, I just settled for what I got.
Considering that it is a hotel buffet and the quality of food was great, I think the rate is very affordable. I have tried buffets with a lot of choices but majority were mediocre food, hence, I don't mind going back again at Prime Café to have a Friday Lunch Buffet again.
