Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen is one of the newest cafe / restaurants in Antipolo City and is the current apple of my eye. There are a lot of new restaurants and coffee shops opening in Antipolo and since I am dodging Manila traffic jam and have been working from home these days, my Antipolo Food Trip Blog Series will be on a roll.
Tucked away by the entrance of Mission Hills Subdivision, Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen is one of the restaurants near my place since most are located either in Antipolo town proper or the overlooking area along Sumulong Highway. Good reason why I am loving this restaurant even more.
If you are like me who is crazy about restaurants with beautifully
designed interior coupled with impressive choices of food on its arsenal, then
Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen might be just right up your alley.
If you're a long time blog reader here at YedyLicious and if you are following my restaurant adventures in Antipolo, you might have probably remember Roots and Herbs Coffee that I have written before. Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen is located just right in front of Roots and Herbs.
It is slightly hidden which somehow gives it an exclusive community restaurant vibe to it. Yet, since Antipolo City is known for some great dining destinations (take for instant Crescent Moon Cafe and Cafe Siena), Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen, although a new player in the field, could be easily considered as one of the hidden gems of Antipolo City.
First time I visited Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen was when I was doing my article for Huawei PH mobile phone food photography wherein I visited three restaurants in Antipolo within limited time frame. So, I have already written a little something about this cafe before but it warrants its own post, hence, here we are.
I cannot stress enough how much I love the interior design of Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen. Every corner is well thought out and put together. There's a lot of beautiful natural light coming in making it a perfect spot for those who loves taking photos of their food.
Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen Antipolo is open at 7am since they offer breakfast meals. It was around brunch time during this particular visit so I decided to check out some of their breakfast item.
First on the table was the Smoked Salmon Fresh Salad with Vinaigrette (Php165) which was basically salad greens with slivers of smoked salmon in the toss. While I wish that thy put more salmon next time and go easy on the carrots which can be mistaken as slivers of salmon at a glance, I have to commend on the freshness of the salad. The vinaigrette was a great accompaniment and in perfect proportion to the veggies.
They do have variety of dishes on the menu, some are of Western roots while the others are known Filipino dishes. Since it was brunch time, I could not really stop myself from having bacon, so I opted for Yellow Bird's Bacon Served with Garlic Rice and Two Eggs (Php115).
Th bacon leans on the savory side of the spectrum. The serving portion was just right for the price tag. The two eggs that comes with it wasn't bad either.
The Bacon and Mushroom Pasta (Php180) was really impressive. I love that there is balance of flavor between the savory bacon, the creaminess of the sauce, and the earthy flavor of the mushroom. It was a good pasta dish although a bit pricey in my opinion considering the serving portion does not encourage sharing. But I wouldn't mind having it again on my next visit.
I also tried their Java Chip Frappuccino (Php145) and find it really really good. It can rival big brand coffee shops in the area, to be honest. The Jasmine Tea (Php50) was also good and it is nice that they offer teas in carafe aside from the usual cup serving.
Some friends and relatives who have been to Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen have nothing but good words about the coffee they serve. If my memory serves me right, Yellow Bird is sporting La Marzocco machine which in my opinion gives the impression that when it comes to coffee, they mean serious business.
If I wasn't preparing for the next restaurant right after my brunch at Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen, I would have probably try more of their desserts. But you see, I have 3 restaurants to try that day which I have to squeezed in within 8 hours for the article I was working on, so I have to limit my intake to reserve some tummy space.
But I did get to try a bite of their Double Chocolate Brownies (Php25) which I find a perfect accompaniment for the Jasmine tea.
The tab was only Php700 for everything I have feasted on. The prices are just right for the serving portions save for the pasta dish I mentioned. The service was accommodating especially the guy who waited for my table during my first visit. Parking area isn't a problem either. I just hope that they get to offer free wifi on my next visit.
All things considered, I find Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen well worth visiting again. There are plenty of items on the menu which I am planning to try next time when I am not pressed for time and have all the time in the word to stay and enjoy the beautiful ambiance and food at Yellow Bird Cafe X Kitchen.
