Oyster Night Buffet at Circles Event Café, Makati Shangri-La, Manila

For the past years, numbers of buffet restaurants in Manila undeniably expand significantly. Truth be told, a quest to find the best buffets in Manila is never ending. But despite the addition of new players in the field, there are some buffets which up to this day remains to be much celebrated by foodies. One of them is the buffet at Circles Event Café in Makati Shangri-La Hotel Manila.

Highly recommended by most foodies in Manila, Circles Event Café boast not just of quantity but of the quality of food they are dishing out. Still on top of its game, Buffet at Circles creative spin on conducting "themed buffet nights" is one of the many reasons while they are still one of the best players in buffet league. Last Monday, I was able to try and enjoy one of their new themes, The Oyster Night

Circles Event Café is located at the ground level of Makati Shangri-La Hotel. It is near different shopping establishments such as SM Makati, Glorietta, and Greenbelt. Once hunger pangs hit you while you're on a shopping spree, you can head on to Circles to have a gastronomical ride of your life.

Circles' Oyster Night Buffet is their new addition for their themed night and it boasts of different varieties of oysters sourced locally and from abroad. During our visit, there are ten different kinds of oysters we feasted on, but we were told that there will be nights when the choices could be more than ten.

Designated oyster section manned by friendly and accommodating chefs is kept bountiful with fresh oysters for the diners delight. Different condiments and sauces are also provided in the section.

Diners can also request to have their oysters cooked the way they want to, provided that ingredients are available at the theater kitchen which Circles is known for. Have them baked, stewed, grilled, or you may opt to eat them fresh as well. No limits, and as Makati Shangri-La aptly put it, during Monday nights at Circles, the world is your oyster.

Of course, the Oyster buffet is just an added to treat to the entire deal. Extensive choices of dishes are also well worth indulging in.

Dig into their Asian section and you will be welcomed with variety of options such as Indian dishes, Chinese fares, Filipino cuisines, and more. I noticed during my visit that the Indian section are the fastest spread to be wiped out. It's interesting because not all buffet spread I tried could properly execute Indian cuisine. And the fact that I've seen Indian nationals feasting on the spread during that night only steeled my resolved that Circles is doing it right.

Their Chinese Spread was definitely one of my favorite that night. I have always been crazy about Chinese cuisine (Among many others, yeah) and with the famous Shang Palace under its umbrella, I am confident that Makati Shangri-La's Circles could do Chinese dishes well too.

One of my regrets though is that I wasn't able to try the shawarma which I heard was pretty awesome. I guess I feasted too much on oysters and Peking duck that I forgot to save some space for the shawarma. Halal certified dishes and some vegetarian fares are also spread out beautifully in one section.

Aside from their themed nights, I must say that one of the things that Circles can be proud of is their extensive dessert station. If you have been reading my blog, you would know that I am big on desserts and Circles do not disappoint.

Everything I have tried on the dessert spread was so sinfully good. Rarely do I encounter a dessert spread that carries goodies that are equally impressive. Most of them are just good with their chocolate variants but failed miserably in other sweet treats. It's a different story at Circles, well, based on what I have tried (read: many).

When dining at Circles, I suggest that you do yourself a favor and try their flourless chocolate cake. If you are big on chocolate, you will not regret it, I promise.

There are a lot of other dishes which I haven't tried yet at Circles and I cannot wait to come back for more and share the experience with you my dear readers. Their Oyster Night in particular is something one should not miss especially if you are an oyster lover like I am. Everything was dished out fresh and of high quality judging from the way it tasted.

Based on what I have witnessed that night, people are pretty stoked with this new themed night at Circles Event Café. Chefs and food attendants were pretty busy replenishing the oyster spread because people kept on coming back for more. Who could blame them? those oysters were so good that a couple of plates or more could already assure you that you are getting your money's worth.

I cannot wait to go back and try some of their themed night buffets, especially the barbecue night. I heard they are also coming up with Crab Night theme so that adds to the excitement. I am sure you are excited too for this new twist on the usual buffet spread, so I suggest you come and visit Circles Event Café and have a grand gastronomical time with your loved ones. I hope to see you there one of these days.
