The first time I set foot at Sunshine Kitchen at The Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City,I instantly fell in love with it. Its beautifully designed interior was the culprit. And when I tasted some of the dishes they have on their menu, I knew right there and then that it was true love.
Great food and cozy ambiance is always a perfect combination. Sunshine Kitchen offers both and then some. I have been to Sunshine Kitchen a few times already and I must say that each and every visit is always a pleasant experience.
Located just above Shawarma Guys at The Fort Strip, Sunshine Kitchen
exudes a charming ambiance suggestive of rustic bistro. Its open kitchen allows diners to take a peek to the magic that is happening before the glorious food graced their tables. Its brick
wall and wooden furniture goes perfectly well with the kind of food they serve at Sunshine Kitchen ~ Western comfort food.
Sunshine Kitchen boasts of great selections of wines, local and imported beers, imported liquors and cocktail drink among many other beverages. And if drinking is not your thing, good times can be assured with their impressive food.
Sunshine's Green Salad (Php290) is a hearty bowl of salad comprised of fresh greens, nuts, and gorgonzola cheese. It can be pass off as the usual salad, but the use of champagne vinaigrette lends a depth of flavor you cannot get in any other salad. It was refreshing meal starter which I always enjoy in every visit.
Earthy and comforting, Mixed Mushroom and Poached Egg (Php280) is an equally beautiful appetizer to kick start your appetite for a good meal at Sunshine.
Downright simple in appearance, but the complex flavor brought about by different mushroom is what made this dish special. Cut through the poached egg and as the yolk lazily covered the mushroom, you will know that you are in for a flavorful treat.
Slow roasted for six hours, Sunshine Kitchen's Porchetta (Php480) is one of the must-haves when dining at Sunshine Kitchen. A slab of pork in golden brown hue stood gorgeous against its white backdrop of a rice.
The tenderness of the meat and the crisp texture of the skin are just the icing on the cake, because what really made this dish special is its smokey and savory flavor incomparable to any other.
Equally impressive and surely one of the must-haves at Sunshine Kitchen is their Sunshine Pizza (Php550). Thin crust pizza smothered with marinara sauce and some generous servings of cabanatuan longganisa, bits of porchetta, bell pepper, ricotta, and mozzarella cheese.
Topped with arugula leaves and eggs, this pizza is already flavorful on its own but the addition of roasted garlic sure elevates the experience a notch higher. It is literally a sunshine on your plate that shines through.
One cannot go wrong with Sunshine Kitchen's Key Lime Pie Ice Cream (Php240) with its indulgent flavor hinting of citrusy taste and downright creaminess for dessert. The graham crumbs gave off an illusion that it is a pie, only better.
My first visit at Sunshine Kitchen at The Fort Strip in Bonifacio Global City happened earlier this year, a couple of months before it opened. My succeeding visits yield the same pleasant and enjoyable dining experience and for that, Sunshine Kitchen just earned my respect. Needless to say, it is one of my favorite restaurants that opened this year 2013, and I have high hopes for branch expansion in the near future.
