After our visit to Aristocrat Restaurant and Bakeshop at Jupiter St. which is a great addition to the 24 hour restaurants in Makati, we headed to their branch at Subic Bay Freeport Zone. Prior to the visit, I have little knowledge as to where to eat at Subic since I rarely frequent the place. All I know was that most restaurants at Subic Bay area are mostly Korean Restaurants. Little did I know, there are plenty others, including Aristocrat Restaurant.
So, when in Subic, and you are suddenly hit with mean cravings for all-time favorite Filipino cuisine, there is Aristocrat there you can always visit. The menu is pretty much the same as with all other Aristocrat branches there is. The ambiance is very spacious which can accommodate big groups, and very conducive to a pleasant dining experience, location-wise.
Ingredients which can be sourced within the area are utilize to ensure
freshness and quality of food, while some which are not locally
available are sourced from Manila or other nearby places. Regardless of the proximity to Manila where majority of its branches is located, Aristocrat at Subic also serves Aristocrat's well-loved dishes which they are famous for. Take for instance the feast we devoured.
Creamy soup generously filled with vegetables and meat, Aristocrat's Hototai Soup (Php 270) maybe a perfect meal starter, but it can also be enjoyed all through out your meal time for an added gastronomical pleasure. Reminiscent of the usual local sopas sans the macaroni pasta, but still hearty.
One of the things I love about Aristocrat's Lumpiang Shanghai (Php 270) is that it is packed with meat to the brim as compared to other lumpiang Shanghai you may get from other restaurants. Crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside, it is a perfect combination to any other dish but still best when eaten on its own.
People I know who has great liking for pancit canton can vouch for Aristocrat's rendition of it. And I have to agree with them. Aristocrat's Pancit Canton (Php 350) boasts of savory flavor and perfectly cooked noodles made all the more special with generous vegetables and meat thrown in the mix. I am not a big pancit canton eater but this one is a different story.
Aristocrat may take pride on their chicken barbecue but when it comes to their Chicken Honey (Php430/Whole, Php250/Half) they also mean serious business. Definitely one of the best I have tried here in Manila.
Both served with Aristocrat's signature Java rice, Java sauce, and atchara per order, Pork Barbecue (Php145/2 pcs.) and Pork Spareribs Barbecue (Php 345) are dishes that one should not miss when dining at Aristocrat. The tenderness of the meat is very apparent while the sweet and smoky flavor are also noteworthy.
For years now, Aristocrat boasts of their tag as the "Home of the Best Chicken BBQ in Town." Judging from the length of time that they are in the business, I am sure that a lot of us agree. According to Aristocrat there are 7 Secrets that made their famous Chicken BBQ (Php195 / 3pcs) really special; (1) Original Recipe (2) Perfect Chicken (3) Generous Portion (4) Freshly-Grilled (5) Patented Griller (6) Java Rice (7) Java Sauce. Personally, I really like Aristocrat's Chicken BBQ flavor-wise and I wouldn't mind having it morning, noon, and night. I could skip the Java sauce.
Of course, you haven't been to Aristocrat if you have not tried their Adobo Flying Saucer (Php95). One of the crowd's snack/merienda favorite at Aristocrat which is made of bread filled with Adobo Flakes inside.
Another popular snack/merienda items at Aristocrat's menu are Sagot' Gulaman (Php65) and Halo-Halo (Php125). The gulaman has the right level of sweetness which I like while the halo-halo is packed with delicious ingredients in generous proportion.
Subic Bay may be filled with restaurants with main focus on international dishes but the place also boasts of one of the Filipino restaurants in the Philippines that stood the test of times. Aristocrat Restaurant at Subic Bay Freeport Zone carries the magic that they are known for in Manila to let the locals as well as the foreign visitors at Subic have a taste of what Aristocrat is all about.
