Oakroom Restaurant's Saturday Night Fever Dinner Buffet at Oakwood Premier Manila

Oakroom Restaurant, the signature restaurant of Oakwood Premier Joy-Nostalg Center Manila in Ortigas is known to dish out themed hotel buffet offerings every quarter. For the first quarter of this year, they give a flavorful touch of delectable goodness to their buffet spread through their Saturday Night Fever Dinner Buffet which started last January 11, 2014.

During the launch of the dinner buffet at Oakroom, we sampled some of the offerings on the spread which comprised of delightful international dishes. While the spread, particularly the quality of the food is enticing enough, this special buffet promo is further elevated with the inclusion of Chef Jerome Cartailler's Cronuts Station

During the launch, media feasted on scrumptious dishes which are included on the buffet spread promo. There are appetizers station as well as salad and sandwich station which I adore. Cold cuts are aplenty which goes perfectly with any types of salad there is, including Cob Salad and New York Style Cheese Dog Salad. The shrimp cocktail was pure delight while the chicken tortillas was downright delicious that a third helping is undoubtedly expected.

Main dishes spread includes Buffalo Wings, Crisp Fried Chicken, Pork Ribs Barbecue which should not be missed. There were also some kid friendly dishes such as Italian Meatball Pasta and Frankfurter Hotdogs. Jambalaya rice, corn on a cob, and as well as creamy mashed potatoes are good option available to accompany your choice of viands.

US Rib eye and grilled steak are also included on the buffet spread and carving station. I specifically love the flavor of the US Rib eye especially the slices laden with fat! The steaks were pre-cooked and well done.

Delectable desserts are also available. Most are cake slices but there were other offerings such as apple pie and even Magnum ice cream.

But as I mentioned, while the spread boasts of delightful dishes, the highlight of saturday Night Fever Dinner Buffet lies on their Cronut Station which most of us enjoyed to the core. The Cronut has two segment, one for Sweet Cronuts and the other one is for Savory Cronuts.

Sweet Cronuts variants includes a colorful feast of cronuts topped with different candies, chocolates, and anything sweet you could think of. And while there are pre-made already available for consumption, guest may opt for a DIY cronuts wherein they could make and/or invent their own variant of cronut toppings.

Condiments for Sweet Cronuts
The Savory Cronuts section on the other hand boasts of different types of cronut variants of savory flavor profile. There are pre-made as well, but the liberty to make your own variant is also encouraged as there are available savory condiments and ingredients the guests may use. Guests may also choose if they want their cronuts baked or fried.

Sample Savory Cronuts on display includes Cronut de France which is made of duck liver (foie gras) drizzled with balsamic glaze, Cronut Benedict made of poached egg, smoked ham, drizzled with hollandaise sauce, and Cronut Philly made of shredded beef, onions, and cheese sauce.

Mini cronuts are also available in both savory and sweet section, however these are already pre-made yet delicious nonetheless.

Personally, the buffet spread at Oakroom may not be as big as that of the other hotel buffets but I find the spread generous enough and the quality of each dishes were excellent. I specifically enjoyed the Cronuts Station especially the savory segment, considering I normally prefer sweet over savory. It only goes to show that the savory fare are well executed.

The Foie Gras cronut as well as the Philly cronut are both astoundingly good. having these two alone on unlimited offerings will make this promo well worth its price. Foie Gras all you want? who would say no?

Saturday Night Fever Dinner Buffet at Oakroom is available every Saturday night from 6pm to 11pm and is priced at Php1,290++ only. During Sundays on the other hand, guests may enjoy Oakroom's Spectacular Sunday Selections which I heard is equally impressive.
