Tex-Mex Fiesta Grande Buffet at Oakroom Restaurant of Oakwood Manila + Buffet GIVEAWAY!

Days after I have tried the Tex-Mex Fiesta Grande Buffet at Oakroom Restaurant of Oakwood Premier Joy-Nostalg Center Manila I was still raving about the goodness of their Americanized Mexican offerings. Truth be told, theirs are the best Tex-Mex dishes I have had. The fact that this buffet includes unlimited servings of Margarita and non-alcoholic drink Shirley Temple only took my experience up a notch.

Although the buffet focuses mainly on specific cuisine, I wouldn’t mind saying that it was one of the best buffets in Manila that I have tried recently. Oakwood’s Executive Chef Jerome Catailler and his team really did a great job in creating feast of Tex-Mex dishes at Oakroom. Needless to say, they made a fan out of me.

Oakroom Restaurant is known to dish out themed buffets every quarter that makes them a good candidate for best hotel buffets you would come across with. Unlike other hotel buffets, Oakwood Manila’s wouldn’t overwhelm you with exaggerated choices that are too impossible for you to try in one go anyway.  Yet, it does not mean that you would be limited in terms of variants to choose from. As a matter of fact, their buffet spread is decent enough to get your money’s worth. Add to that, the fact that they focus more on the quality of their dishes assuring every diner that each and every food that they will get to enjoy is worth the calories.

Tex-Mex Fiesta Grande Buffet at Oakroom Restaurant started last July 4 and will last until September 26, 2014. This three month long celebration is a Friday Night Buffet Special at Oakwood Manila that is perfect for an end-of-the-week relaxation.  I was able to try this buffet one Friday night and although the weather was not cooperative that night, the feast made it well worth it.

Below are just SOME of the dishes you may expect at Tex-Mex Fiesta Grande Buffet at Oakroom Restaurant. There are others that I haven't included in the post and there are some that weren't included on the spread during my visit but are available on other Fridays during the entire run of this buffet promo.

Steak Fajita Salad ~ perfect when eaten as it is, but I tried putting it on my tacos and the meaty flavor of the steak made it all the more satisfying. The innate sweetness of the corn made my dealing with the spiciness of jalapeno bearable.

Tex-Mex Steak Fajita Salad

Pulled Barbecue Chicken Salad ~  This one I tried incorporating to my nachos, just to known if chicken can work well with it. Despite the fact that I adore the Chili Con Carne on my Nachos, this one did a great job as well.

Pulled Barbecue Chicken Salad

Pulled Barbecue Pork Salad ~  who does not love pulled pork barbecue? I for one is a fan! It's smokey flavor was just perfect that I almost crave for rice which is what I usually eat when having pulled pork. Yet, despite the absence of my favorite Pinoy staple food, this salad is just the bomb!

Pulled Barbecue Pork Salad

Santa Fe Chopped Salad ~ All other salads available on the buffet have some form of meat incorporated into the mix, this one is the only one which has pure veggies on it so it is a good choice if you want to keep calories intake at bay.

Santa Fe Chopped Salad

Chicken Tortilla Wrap ~ The chicken strips inside were a dead giveaway that Tex-Mex food is all about fiesta of flavor. I love that the tortilla wrap was soft and slightly chewy at the same time.

Chicken Tortilla Wrap

Salads and appetizers were aplenty but the main dishes were also scene stealer during that night.

Roasted Salmon Fillet / Roast Beef ~ The carving station boasts of these two dishes that were too enticing not to notice. The salmon fillet was crusted with what I would like to think as cheese and served with salsa. The roast beef had the flavor that will make you shout caramba!

Roasted Salmon Fillet and Roast Beef

Tequila and Bacon Gambas / Chicken Quesadilla ~ First dish I tried that night was the gambas and I swear I fell head over heals with the plump and juicy shrimp covered with bacon! I am guilty of finishing an entire round of this dish, good thing though that as always, food attendants were quick to replenish the dish. The quesadilla was also good, I tried dipping it on sour cream sauce and it was just beautiful.

Beef Chimichangga ~ Another dish that made me dream of this buffet days after. The beef filling was so flavorful. I normally wouldn't finish a regular serving of chimichangga from other restaurants but I don't have problem having second serving of this dish at Oakroom.

Beef Chimichangga

Baby Back Ribs / Corona Beef Strips ~ I was too busy downing some tacos, nachos, gambas, and chimichanggas that I completely missed the chance to try these two dishes. But judging by the speed that these two were replenished from time to time, these two I must say is one of the crowd favorites.

Enchiladas / Burritos ~ I wasn't able to try the Burrito but my mom who I was with that night said it was amazing. The enchilas on the other hand made it to my favorite list because it kinda remind me of the chimichangga although this one had chicken meat on it.

Enchiladas / Burritos

Buffalo Wings and Jalapeno Poppers ~  Those who loves spicy food will surely love these two dishes. The Buffalo wings were great pairing for the martini especially if you don't mind getting your hands a tad dirty since you won't be able to help feasting on these goodies with your bare hands!

Nachos ~ Freshly made nacho chips loaded with all things delicious that could make up a great nacho dish is readily available on the buffet spread. But for those who wants to steer clear or have an extra serving of particular ingredients that comes with your chips, Oakroom has a Make-Your-Own-Tacos-and-Nachos section.

Nachos

My favorite part of the buffet was the Make-Your-Own-Tacos-and-Nachos section!

Crisp and freshly made nacho chips and taco shells!

Chili Con Pollo and Chili Con Carne ~ Two options you can add to your nachos/taco which are both extremely good! But then again, you can opt to do as I did; choose your favorite salad on the spread and add it to the mix!

Chili Con Pollo and Chili Con Carne

Variety of ingredients to complete your nachos/taco feast!

Nachos and Tacos Ingredients

This is my own version of taco. Like what I said, I put in some Steak Fajita Salad into the mix and while it may not look as enticing as I hope it to be, this baby was so delicious!

Taco!

Dessert section features variety of sweets and majority of them are cakes. Oakroom is one of the hotel buffets I know that dishes out really good quality of desserts and that made me love them even more!

There's visually arresting Leche Flan topped with fresh fruits.

The most beautiful Tres Leches Cake I have ever seen.

And of course, since it's a Tex-Mex Buffet, there's also the well-loved Churros! Best paired with the melted chocolate which is also included on the buffet spread.

As mentioned, this Tex-Mex Fiesta Grande Buffet comes with free flowing Margarita and Shirley Temple for non-alcoholic drink option.
