Upon learning that Burger King Philippines has a new burger variant that features Jalapeño, I got really excited. Burger King is one of my favorite burger fast food chains ever because they got one of the best burgers, in my opinion. The introduction of the new spicy variant is very timely since it was only recently that I learned to love spicy food.
Incidentally,
I got an invite for Burger King's event held at their Tiendesitas
branch. The event was all about their celebrity endorser Tom Rodriguez,
the Grill & Chill Cook-Out, and of course, the Angry Whopper.
Lucky for me, I got my schedule cleared up, so to Burger King Tiendesitas I went. It was jam packed, fun, and exciting!
We were welcomed by the kindly people behind Burger King Philippines. Senior Brand Manager Jo Anne Ingalla made the opening remarks and talked about that day's celebration. Burger King Philippines aims to reintroduce the Whopper with emphasis on the importance of grill marks in their burger patties.
These grill marks ensures sealed flavors in the patties for an authentic delicious beefy flavor. This is Burger King's trademark, hence their hashtag for the event, #MARKSBETTER.
Celebrity endorser Tom Rodriguez was also introduced by the very funny guy Sam YG, also famous Burger King endorser. Other Burger King's brand ambassadors such as Chico and Gino of RX93.1, Joyce of Magic89.9, and Suzy of Magic89.9 also joined in the fun.
Everyone also got to meet the winner of the International Whopper Challenge, Edward Vergara with a record time of 12 seconds assembly time of a Whopper.
One of the event highlights was the Grill & Cookout Challenge where some guests were challenged to assemble a Whopper burger at the least amount of time they could muster. The winner of the challenge was of course, the Pickiest Eater himself, Richie Zamora.
Media, bloggers, and other guests were treated with a feast of Burger King's Whopper and then some. Of course, it was then that the Angry Whopper was introduced to us alongside the equally impressive Rock It Fries.
Burger King's Angry Whopper is essentially a Whopper burger with jalapeño and barbecue sauce thrown in the mix for added flavor and spice. I adore it so much since it is not just packed with beefy flavor but with exciting spiciness as well. The jalapeño also adds crunchy texture to the deal, making it all the more exciting to eat.
I rarely attend events these days because of work but I am glad that I was able to join this one as I have always been a fan of Burger King. Tom Rodriguez's playful and fun personality fits perfectly as Burger King endorser. The Angry Whopper, well, one of my favorites these days, I must say.
