When your folks started enumerating the health benefits of soaking your self into hot spring, Luisa Ridge Hot Spring Resort in Pansol Laguna in this particular case, you cannot really argue with it. So despite easy access to pool back home, you'll take that drive all the way to Laguna because hey, regular pool is no match to hot spring pool, I was told.
But it is not as if there is a tinge of regret lurking somewhere here because truth is, I kind of enjoy this little trip.
There are a lot of hot spring resorts in Laguna area but my father happen to know the Koren business man who acquired this property, so we went for it in support. I heard that it was previously owned by locals before the management revamped but it was a pretty murky story so I am not really sure.
It's a short travel time away from Manila. But that depends on the traffic and stop over, and my siblings and I take pleasure in those stop over food trips so it probably took us more than 3 hours, if I remember it right.
The entire property is really big at 4 hectares with a good view of nature surrounded to it since it is nestled at the foot of Mt. Makiling. The have an in-house store that sells different stuff one might need when in a resort and there are food for sale as well.
Luisa Ridge Hot Spring Resort offers accommodation for private events, weddings, debut, reunions, kiddie parties, and the like. They have different packages for these functions and I as told that they can work on the client's proposed budget as well.
Accommodation varies from executive, standard, deluxe, family, and dormitory rooms. They also offer guest houses for those who will be availing of private pool accommodation package.
During our overnight stay, the private pools were booked hence, we opted for the regular accommodation instead. We got one executive room, two dormitory rooms, and a cottage.
All of the rooms are fully air conditioned. The executive room has a television set which was barely used since we were out in the pool most of the time. Nothing really special to it but it is clean and well maintained.
The dormitory rooms we got have 8 single beds each which is perfect for guests in groups. It is also air conditioned and equipped with two big closets, two wall fans, and two in-room sinks/lavatory. There are also six - yes, six small bathrooms each.
Access to all their swimming pools save for the privates comes with the
accommodation including free use of their
videoke machine. We only pay around 20K for everything which was perfectly fine because
we basically have the entire place to ourselves during that time.
There is no kitchen in any of the three rooms we got to avail but the free us of electricity we got in our cottage allowed us to make use of the portable electric stove we had. There is also a grilling area so grilled food come aplenty. But since some of us are dodging carcinogens, the stove comes handy. We also carry our own vegetables and fruits we purchased from nearby road markets.
There are four big swimming pools and two medium private pools within the property. The public area is divided into lower and upper part area - one adult pool and a kiddie pool each area. The private pool which comes with a family house accommodation is within private enclosure.
Since it is a hot spring resort, the water is well, hot for most of the time. But it also cools down from time to time so there's a balance to it.
Our rooms were located at the lower area so that is were we spent most of our time. I was able to take a glimpse of the upper area and I find it equally big but it was quite a long walk since the property is really that big.
Between the upper and lower area, there is a Korean restaurant which almost made me so goddamn happy, but apparently, it was close during our visit. I am guessing the experience could have been pretty swell since the owner is a legit Korean guy so one can expect nothing less from the restaurant. Oh well.
They also offer spa services but I wasn't able to avail of it so there is nothing really much I can say about it.
We only spent an overnight stay at Luisa Ridge Hot Spring Resort in Laguna and while I am not really keen at the onset of our trip, I find the experience pleasant. We are in big group with lots of kids and judging by the time they spent in the water, it is safe to say that everyone enjoyed it immensely.
The price is very reasonable since we pretty much have the entire place
to ourselves, I guess we were lucky that time. I also love that the staff were very accommodating to our needs. So yes, I don't mind going back again.
