I will be writing about the buffet at The Cafe of Hyatt City of Dreams Manila soon because its awesomeness in terms of food quality, service, and price merits its own blog post. For now, this is all about the Cantonese and Indian Food Festival which will be happening at Hyatt - definitely one of the many reasons why you should visit them soon.
Aptly tagged as a Celebration of Two Asian Culinary Traditions, the Cantonese Food Festival and the Indian Food Festival will be happening on June 14 to 19, 2016 and July 14 to 24, 2016 respectively.
This celebration holds the promise of inviting guests and diners at The Cafe to embark on a gustatory journey, a delicious road that leads to China and India. So if you love Cantonese and Indian Cuisines, there is not reason for you to be missing this especially that the buffet rate at The Cafe of Hyatt is surprisingly affordable.
I always love Indian Cuisines ever since former colleagues introduced the wonderful world of Indian food to me and Cantonese Cuisine although has constant presence in my life since Chinese blood runs in the family, it is still one of those food which I cannot get enough of.
So I am really excite for the consecutive months wherein The Cafe of Hyatt will be having this food festival. It is true that these festival will run only for a week in their respective time frames, but we can always cross our fingers for extension, right? Because who knows?
Cantonese Food Festival at The Cafe of Hyatt City of Dreams Manila (June 14 to June 19, 2016)
The Cantonese Food Festival is poised to showcase delicious flavors where Cantonese cuisine is rooted from - the region of Guangdong, China. This festival is made possible by a collaboration between Hyatt City of Dreams Manila and Hyatt Regency Dongguan.
Two Cantonese chefs namely chef Xi Qing Hui and chef Zhao Pan Fei will be joining The Cafe team in creating mild, fresh, and natural Cantonese flavors for the festival. This will ensure that the diners will be savoring authentic Cantonese cuisine at best.
Some of the dishes which will be featured during the Cantonese Festival at The Cafe of Hyatt City of Dreams Manila includes Pork Asado, Ribs, Crispy Pork Macau Style, Stir-fried Vermicelli with prawns, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Stir-fried Snapper Fillet in XO Sauce.
These dishes are just few of them as there will be lots of other Cantonese dishes which will be gracing the buffet spread on the festival.
Indian Food Festival at The Cafe of Hyatt City of Dreams Manila (July 17 to 24, 2016)
Come July, it is the beautiful and complex flavor of Indian cuisine which will be highlighted during the festival. It will be literally a feast of aroma and flavors as we all know how grandiose Indian cuisines is.
This time around, Chef Ajith Kumar from Hyatt Regency Gurgaon in New Delhi India who will be joining the Hyatt City of Dreams Manila in creating delicious Indian food particularly those of the South Indian thali.
Some of the Indian cuisines which the diners will get to enjoy include some cold appetizers such as Chana Chaat, a delicious chickpea appetizer and Aloo Chaat, an equally delicious appetizer made with tiny potatoes.
There will also be some Indian breads like paratha, roti, and papadum which usually compliments some Indian dishes. I am excited to try their paratha as this is often the Indian break I make at home when I am having curry for a meal.
Paneer Makhani will also be featured. This Indian dish is made up of cottage cheese simmered in flavorful tomato sauce with spices. This was the first Indian dish I tried at The Cafe and the way they make it is definitely impressive so I am really looking forward to having this again.
There is also going to be Dal Amitsari, a dish made with lentils, and Jhinga Malai Curry, a dish of prawn in coconut cream and curry sauce during the festival. If you are up for Indian curry dishes like I am because I believe Indian got the best tasting curry dishes bar none, then that is something to look forward to.
Another curry dish that will excite fellow curry-lovers out there is the Bhuna Gosht which is basically a Lamb Curry. I tried cooking this one time at home and while I made a perfect execution of pan-frying the lamb meat with Indian spices, it somehow freaked my mother out because she doesn't eat lamb. I may never get to cook this again at home, so better have this at Hyatt this July, right?
Of course there is going to be Chicken Seekh Kebab because hey, we are talking about Indian cuisine here. I knew some people who started appreciating Indian food after trying out seekh kebab. And I could understand why because this thing is really impressive eaten with naan bread or even as it is.
What I mentioned above are just some of the Cantonese and Indian dishes which will be highlighted during the two festivals. There are of course other cuisines on the buffet spread which diners may enjoy. So there is no need to worry if some of your dining companions aren't into Cantonese and Indian because there will be other dishes as well.
On the other hand, for those who wants to explore the beauty of these two cuisines, it is the right time to visit The Cafe of Hyatt City of Dreams Manila. Not only will you get to partake at the food festival, but you will also discover how amazing the buffet is at Hyatt - with really impressive rates to boot!
