I have been wanting to try and check out this brunch buffet at Nobu after missing couple of invites from friends and family. I was often told that I really should check it out and I am well aware that I definitely should one of these days. Luckily, my KTG Family had the same plan.

I figured Nobu Manila, the first Nobu Hotel in Asia needs no introduction sine their stellar marketing team have done a great job in introducing it to people since it opened. That is mainly the reason why just like most of you I am guessing, made me itch to visit them. So let me go straight to the feast we that had.

Sunday Brunch Buffet at Nobu Manila is said to be ever evolving so it is expected that menu on the buffet spread may vary every Sunday. What is constant however are some of the best selling dishes which somehow become the reason why people keeps on coming back at Nobu.

Just like our experience during the brunch, the photos ahead will be quite a feast in the eyes.

Nobu is known for their luxurious Japanese hence, I can't expect anything less than stellar when it comes to their Japanese dishes especially the grubs they got at the sushi station. Need I say that they did not disappoint?

Their Uni Ikura Chirashi for instance made me feel like a giddy child in a candy shop not just because I love uni but also because it was fresh and downright enjoyable. Their Salmon Sushi also paved way for a delightful start of my brunch.

There were other sushi and maki variants on the spread but some which I find remarkable and well executed were the Whitefish with Shiso Nigiri and the Shrimp Osizushi. Both of which I rarely encounter in most of the hotel buffets I have been to.

Sashimi were also aplenty. There were whitefish, tuna, and salmon. But the most surprisingly delightful was the Tachiuo Sashimi, popularly known by the locals as sword-fish or espada to some. It can be rarely seen on some buffets in Manila, they have it at Nobu.

Alongside the sushi station is the appetizer section that boasts of different dishes which beg to be had when you are at Nobu. The Salmon Karashi Su Miso as well as the Yellowtail Jalapeno which are said to be one of their best sellers and I could understand why because these two were not just pleasing to the eyes but they were an instant favorite of most of us during that brunch as well.

There were also Daikon Wraps in Chili Garlic Dressing and Cha Soba in Sesame Dressing - both were stunning in its simplicity but packed with flavors one may not soon forget. I could count the variety of salads in one hand but all of which were satisfying enough. Not to miss is the Shitake Salad with Spicy Lemon Dressing especially when you crave for intricate flavor with a refreshing streak.

The Hot Dishes Station features variety of food that blends Western and Asian choices. There were the well-loved Okonomiyaki, the downright savory Japanese Beef Curry, and my personal favorite, the Sea Bass Jalapeno.

There was also the Nobu Tocino and Umami Chicken which I deem perfect for those who wants the familiar dishes that usual buffets offer. Both were good and I appreciate that the tocino does not scream of the bright red food coloring we are all used to when dealing with tocino dish.

As Nobu buffet also offers interactive live action food experience, the Teppanyaki station is a spot that should not be missed. There you can find variety of veggies and meats to be grilled with the aid of the helpful and accommodating Nobu chefs.

The Carving Station that day boasts of one of the most celebrated Filipino dish, Lechon. Crisp skin, savory tender meat, and different sauces - I could understand why numbers of foreign diners hover around this station.

The Dessert station is doubled as breakfast pastry station since it is a brunch after all.  I've tried quite a number of selections which all left a good impression on me. But my favorite was of course, the Matcha fountain.

During this brunch, we were lucky to witness Chef Aki Kawia, the head sushi chef of Nobu Manila, as he cut open a big tuna fish. It goes to show how fresh their sashimis are on the buffet spread.

In retrospect, I can now understand why my friends and family have been raving about this brunch buffet. Price maybe a tad steep compared to other hotel buffets what what you will be getting here at Nobu are high quality dishes coupled with impeccable service in a flat out luxurious ambiance.
