Of the Antipolo restaurants I have visited for my Antipolo Food Trip Blog Series, Beeffalo Restaurant is definitely one of my favorites. Case in point, I am writing about it again. Yet, this particular visit happened when I joined my fellow Manila food bloggers in checking out Beeffalo Antipolo's offering.
In my case, since I have visited this restaurant quite a few times already, it was more like checking out what's new on Beeffalo's menu.
As indicated on my previous blog post about Beeffalo by Hotrocks, this one in Antipolo is their second branch following the success of their flagship store in Marikina. They have been in the business for quite a while and as a fan, I am super stoked that they are also doing well in Antipolo.
From the previous time I wrote about them, the appearance of Beeffalo's Antipolo branch only got better. The store hours also changed from operating during dinner service only to an all-day operation. There are some slight changes on the menu, mainly focusing on adding new dishes while maintaining the best sellers.
First on my side of the table were the Broccoli and Cheese Soup (Php120) which sits well with me because for one, I love cheese and second, broccoli is good. I always opted for the Seafood Chowder soup during my previous visits, little did I know, this one is equally amazing.
I also got to try one of the new addition on their menu, the Roasted Tomato Soup (Php75) which I find okay but after couple of spoonful, I was already craving for some pasta and then some grilled cheese.
The Taco BBQ Salad (Php275/sharing) was an old favorite and came as highly recommended as I stated on my previous Beeffalo blog post. I love the big serving portion because while the menu says that it is good for two, by my estimate, it can easily feed three to four people with decent appetite for salads.
The Caesar Salad (Php245/sharing) was equally impressive in terms of serving portion and flavor. It can be perfect for those who wants to stick with the classic and enjoy its simple goodness at best.
Another best seller in Beeffalo that we feasted on was the Beeffalo Wings with Blue Cheese Dip (Php195) which comes in hot and sweet spicy flavor. Nothing much has changed, its goodness is still downright honest despite the fact that the colors can be misleading. The hot red ones are the sweet spicy flavor while the innocent looking ones are the hot wings.
We also did enjoy the Barbecue Platter (Php195) which in my opinion should be renamed as Streetfood Platter as it comprised of pork isaw, tenga, and bulaklak, three sticks each. These delicious grub boasts of the simplicity of flavor because nothing was marinated - they only use salt and pepper to let the flavor of the meat shines through.
For the mains, I did have a hard time figuring out what to have because the porterhouse steak beckons like a madman in my head. But then, I figured I should go for the Sizzling Beef Ribs (Php330) as it came as highly recommended by the owner Mr. Louie.
And boy I've got no regrets. I still love the steaks at Beeffao for sure but this one really stole my heart away. It is basically super tender beef ribs in tamarind sauce, but really it's like beef sinigang. Sort of reminds me of the Sizzling Sinigang at Locavore but more tame in presentation and more impressive in flavor.
Of course, there's the Baby Back Ribs (Php285/single serving with java rice, Php765/full rack) one of the reasons why I fell in love with Beeffalo since I first visited them. It is still as impressive as ever - tender and very flavorful. I swear, one should not miss this when dining at Beeffalo.
Majority of my lunch mates opted for the Porterhouse Steak (Php395/250g, Php650/450g). This has always been my favorite at Beeffalo and I am glad that it god several nod of approval from them.
The Breakfast Steak (Php190/125 grams) which comes with garlic rice, salad, and egg is perfect for those who wants steak with their breakfast meal. The meat reminds me of beef tapa with its distinct flavor. The portion is hefty making this dish a bang for a buck with its price tag.
The Chicken Barbecue (Php185) served with java rice I deem was equally noteworthy. I remember my nephew loving this dish to the core and I could understand that since it has the sweet savory flavor most of us loved in a chicken barbecue dish.
Beeffalo also got some Biscuit Pizza on the menu. Since love thin crust when it comes to my pizza, the biscuit pizza is right up my alley. The Three Cheese (Php135) is perfect for cheese lovers such as myself while the Margherita (Php155) is for those who wants the classic Italian pizza on a really thin crust.
Beeffalo also recently released new sandwiches. We got to try the Cheesesteak Sandwich (Php245) for those who wants some cheesy and meaty grub. The Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich with Tomato Soup (Php225) which by the way instantly becomes my favorite was perfect for those who wants the classic American comfort food.
Another thing that makes me love Beeffalo was the fact that while they do their dishes right, the desserts are equally impressive. The Dulce de Leche Cheesecake (Php165) was dense and served with cream on top. It was not overly sweet and the flavor of dulce de leche was spot on.
The Brazo de Mercedez (Php125) was as always, impressive. The custard was still downright delectable and not cloying. I highly recommend trying out this one if ever you find yourself dining at Beeffalo.
I don't know any restaurants in the area that serves Homemade Ice Cream (Php50/scoop) other than Beeffalo. The great thing about it aside from being homemade is the fact that it features different flavors which are distinctly Pinoy like gabi, langka, buko pandan, etc.
Since it opened, I have always been a fan of Beeffalo. Most of the people I know in our area who I have recommended Beeffalo to were all praise of this little restaurant. The food is always good and the service is warm and friendly.
So if you are in Antipolo and in search of a great restaurant to dine in, I highly recommend Beeffalo especially if you love steaks and other good American comfort grub.
