I have quite a number of recipes in my arsenal using Filippo Berio products. Yet for today, I am going for the easiest but downright delicious nonetheless.
There are several olive oils and ready-made pesto in the market today but Filippo Berio is one of those which I have come to trust. In terms of quality and value for money, I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t have it as staple in my pantry.
Filippo Berio history can be traced way back 1867 in the Italian town of Lucca in Tuscany where a young man named Filippo Berio decided to follow his passion of creating the finest and delicious olive oil. Fast forward to today, Filippo Berio is now known as the world’s most popular olive oil.
Olive oil by Filippo Berio which I believe is available in the Philippine market includes Pure Olive Oil, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and Mild and Light Tasting Olive Oil. Everything is said to be made from the first cold-pressing of the finest olives. It is distinguished by its full flavor, low acidity, and deep greenish-gold color.
Its great content quality makes it perfect for enhancing flavors in salad dressing, marinades, and sauces. It is also a great finish to vegetables, rice dishes, and soup. Moreover, it can also be a perfect dipping sauce for bread and seafood such as shrimps and lobster.
Aside from these delicious olive oil, Filippo Berio also has Balsamic Vinegar and a great pesto selections to boot such as the classic green pesto, the sun dried tomato pesto, and the tomato and ricotta pesto. For the recipe I will be sharing today, Filippo Berio’s Olive Oil, Classic Pesto, and Sun Dried Tomato Pesto will take the spotlight.

50 grams Filippo Berio Classic Pesto
6 pcs crabstick steamed and shredded
Filippo Berio Olive Oil for drizzle.
Procedure:
Sun Dried Tomato Pesto and Cream Cheese Bruschetta
1. Spread cream cheese on slices of baguette.
The amount largely depends to your liking. I love cheese so I always make it a point to have a generous amount of it on my bread. Also, the cheese tempers the acidity of the sun dried tomato making it not just rich but creamy as well.
2. Spread Filippo Berio Sun Dried Tomato Pesto on top of the cream cheese-laden slices of baguette bread.
You may also go as generous as you want especially if you're the type who wants that distinct taste of tomato on your spread. And if you are feeling a bit fancy, you may top it with perhaps fried bacon or sausages.
3. Drizzle with Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil which is perfect for bread. I have tried using the Filippo Berio Pure Olive Oil and it still yields an impressive outcome, hence, you may take your pick.
At this point, the Sun Dried Tomato Pesto and Cream Cheese Bruschetta can now be served and enjoyed. However for this recipe, I suggest that you hold that appetite a bit because it can be a perfect accompaniment for the next classic pesto bruschetta.
Classic Pesto and Crab Sticks Bruschetta
1. Spread Filippo Berio Classic Pesto on slices of baguette bread.
I love having generous dollop of it on my bread because for me, it is the best ready-made pesto available in the market. If you are also a believer, go ahead and indulge.
2. Topped with shredded crabsticks.
I always believe that pesto is great when combined with chicken and seafood. So for this part, you can opt for your favorite seafood or use sliced chicken by all means. As for me, I always favor tuna and crabstick.
3.Drizzle with wither Filippo Berio Extra Virgin Olive Oil of Filippo Berio Pure Olive Oil. Totally your call, either ways, both are good.
