Our recent stay at Amorita Resort in Panglao Bohol opened my eyes to the beauty on that side of Bohol and it also introduced me to the variety of delicious food that Amorita offers. Beautiful place, award-winning service, and delicious food – Amorita got all that, it’s a complete package, really. It is one of the many reasons why I enjoyed our Bohol trip that much.
As mentioned in my previous posts, it is impossible to summarize my Amorita experience in one blog post, hence, this is a four-part Amorita blog series just like most of my travel and hotel staycation blog posts.
If you have not checked out the series yet, I suggest that you do so. First part was all about the Junior Suite I have stayed in and second part was about exploring more of Amorita Resort – its amenities and room accommodations. We are currently on the third part which is all about the dining options at Amorita and the last part will be about our visit at Amorita’s sister resort, Momo Beach House.

This Bohol trip happened during the launch of AirAsia Philippines’ new Santan In-flight menu. AirAsia flies several times a day from Manila to Bohol so if you are planning a trip, you may book an AirAsia flight here. Do try out their delicious in-flight meals, you wouldn’t regret it. Just be sure to pre-book to assure the availability of your choice of food.
Since it was a menu launch event, we were well-fed by the generous people of AirAsia from the get go. But Amorita Resort did not fall short of amazing in playing their best Filipino hospitality card by stuffing us, their guests with equally impressive food.
There are two restaurants inside Amorita Resort; Saffron Restaurant and Tomar Tapas and Bar.
Saffron Restaurant is an all-day dining restaurant that offers buffet
food selection at scheduled dining service as well as ala carte menu. It
prided itself in offering thoughtful reinterpretation of Boholano
heritage cuisine alongside variety of Continental and Asian food
favorites. They also offer great wine selections and signature cocktails
among many other beverages which can be enjoyed by the guests.
Saffron Restaurant is located by one of the sleek infinity pool at Amorita hence, its dramatic ambiance and view make for a perfect dining experience for the guests. Aside from our room, Saffron Restaurant is my favorite place where I mostly spent my time while in Amorita. It is one of the busiest spot in the resort since it is right by the pool, however there was never a time when I feel that it was too crowded except during dinner buffet service.
During the day of our arrival at Amorita, we were able to enjoy breakfast buffet which ended up as a brunch for us since it was already around 11am. After a little stroll within the property, we were then treated to a very simple and yet satisfying lunch. We enjoyed servings of comforting soup, refreshing salad, and a satisfying chicken dish. The dessert served were fresh fruits which capped off our filling lunch before heading into the afternoon siesta.
Breakfasts, during the entire duration of our stay were spent at the breakfast buffet offerings at Saffron Restaurant. Just like some of my favorite hotel buffets, the one they offer at Saffron I find impressive. IT may not be as extensive as the others but everything on the spread which I have tried were downright delicious.
I remember enjoying their ultra-crisp bacon, hash brown, potato omelet, Swiss and Camembert cheese, and French toast topped with fruit jam and drizzled with honey so much. I ate it everyday aside of course from the other rice and viands selections available on the buffet spread.
We also enjoyed their dinner buffet service which I deem equally impressive in terms of food choices. My favorite during our visit were the super tender and flavorful Twice Cooked Adobo and of course the Ube Halaya which is one of Bohol’s delicacies.
Another dining option at Amorita Resort is Tomar Tapas and Bar. Tomar is essentially a restaurant that specializes in Spanish cuisine interpreted with local and modern touch specifically tapas, paellas, and pintxos. It also houses carefully curated wine and whiskey selections among many other beverages one may enjoy while at Tomar.
The dinner during our first night at Amorita was at Tomar. We were so full then because that was just after the program launch of AirAsia Santan in-flight menu. However, when food from Tomar started parading our table, we started feasting on it as if we have not eaten yet. Because everything was enticing and everything was amazingly good.
Generous servings of sangria, tapas, paellas, and pintxos made the night satisfyingly good. I remember enjoying Chorizo a la Vino, Patatas Bravas, Gambas, and Chopitos. We also had Paella Negra and Paella Valenciana which I enjoy the most. So much for being full that night. I literally finished quarter of the entire serving of Paella Valenciana because it was one of the best I ever had. I will surely dine in again at Tomar and enjoy their offerings when I revisit Amorita.
The company of my good friends, the amazing hosts from AirAsia and Amorita, the beautiful place, and the good service were enough for me to make the Bohol Trip memorable. But the icing on the cake was that Amorita also offers delicious food at par with the best hotels and restaurants we have here in Manila.
