California Pizza Kitchen Philippines (CPK PH) is celebrating its 20th year Anniversary and inline with it, they have recently launched a new menu that reintroduces classic old favorites and delicious new adventures that will make every visit at all California Pizza Kitchen branches here in the Philippines well worth it.
Old pizza favorites that will be re-introduced in CPK PH new menu include Roast Duck Pizza, Tuna Melt Pizza, Mango Tandoori Pizza, and Rustica Crispy Thin Crust Pizza which all became popular way back 1998. Year 2000 CPK pizza favorites Wild Mushroom Pizza and Cheeseburger Pizza will also grace the new CPK menu this 2018 as part of the classic old favorite selections.
While the classic old favorites proved to be tried and tested the new pizza selections are also something that are poised to provide exciting adventure in flavors. First one is the Spicy Chorizo Pizza, a CPK US pizza recipe that consist of Spanish chorizo, chili pepper sauce, roasted bell pepper, cheese, onions, and fresh avocado slices. There is also the White Clam Pizza made with clams, Mozzarella cheese, onions, extra virgin olive oil, and spices. The Chicken Fajita Pizza features Latin heat with Mexican spiced chicken, cilantro pesto, scallions, and mixed cheeses and spices.
All vegetarians must rejoice as CPK Philippines introduces two new meat-free pizza options namely Tricolore Crispy Thin Crust Pizza with mixed greens and diced tomatoes topped with shaved Parmesan cheese, and the new Tropicale Quorn Regular Hand-Tossed Pizza made with Quorn chunks, grilled pineapple, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses, and yellow onions with cilantro on coconut cream sauce drizzled with a Caribbean sauce.
CPK Philippines has partnered with Quorn Philippines which makes it possible for CPK to incorporate new vegetarian food selection on their menu just like the aforementioned pizza and the Kids' Quorn Nuggets and Seasoned Fries. This proves that there is something for everybody at CPK, whether you're a meat-eater or a vegetarian.
As for the new pasta selections, there is the new Chicken Tequila Fettuccine which is made with chicken chunks, bell peppers, fettuccine pasta, cilantro, and lime juice in Cuervo Gold Tequilla cream sauce. I personally love this new pasta because of the very refreshing touch of citrusy flavor against the creamy backdrop of the sauce. I find it light and satisfying at the same time.
There is also the new Cajun Spiced Jambalaya Pasta made with chicken, smoked sausage, blackened shrimp, linguine pasta, and scallions in Jambalaya sauce. This pasta, I figured is one of the crowd's favorite. My friends who I was with during the media launch loved this pasta so much which I find understandable since it's flavor is something that is very easy to love.
I am a salad person and truth be told, CPK is one of those that serves delicious variety of salads hence, I was so excited upon knowing that there are two new salads that will be added on the new menu this season. First one is the new California Harvest Salad which recipe is rooted from CPK US. It is made with baby kale, napa cabbage, carrots, and steamed farrow seeds mixed with red seedless grapes, strawberries, watermelon cubes, and almonds. There are two options of dressing for this salad namely citrus or blueberry vinaigrette.
Another salad option is the new Golden Pear Salad with fresh arugula, celery, parsley, candied walnuts, and cheddar cheese in a lime olive oil dressing. If you love arugula - which I do - this salad is a good option. The distinct taste of arugula complements the innate taste of the golden pear, hence, expect a push and pull of flavor that blends really well together on this one.
I am one of those who rejoiced when CPK Philippines introduced rice entrees on their menu last year, hence, I also got excited when they introduced additional rice dishes on their menu. First one is the Thai Calamari Rice with roasted peanuts, pineapple, chili peppers, scallions, and Japanese Furikake in a sweet Thai chili sauce. Another one is the Salisbury Steak Rice (not in photo) which is a juicy Wagyu beef patty, caramelized onions, and a sunny side up egg in a demi-glaze sauce.
My favorite among the rice entree however is the Thai Coconut Curry Shrimp Rice with garlic, mushroom, carrots, ginger, bell peppers, roasted peanuts, and cilantro in a coconut curry sauce. I love curry dishes and this one is one for the book. I love the generosity of the ingredients and the well-balanced flavor that made me finished everything on my plate in one go. I tell you, you should not miss this if you love curry.
As for the dessert, there are two new exciting additions, first is the new Banoffee Pie with bananas, coffee powder, cream, caramel syrup, and candied walnuts on Graham cracker crust. This is as good as classic Banoffee Pie can get and definitely one of my favorite desserts of all time. I am glad that they have this at CPK now too.
Last but not the least, there's now Nutella Cheesecake on CPK Menu which boasts of a bar of cheese and Nutella flavored cake with chocolate syrup and whipped cream on top. I love that the strong the flavor of Nutella is very apparent on this one. This is perfect with a cup of coffee which you can also have at CPK.
All of the new dishes at CPK Philippines new menu which I have tried I find really impressive. If you want to know ore about it, watch out for the relaunch of their website cpk.com.ph.
