It's the time of the year again. A season when much awaited Christmas traditions are celebrated and followed. If you're a long-time reader, you probably know that part of our family's Christmas tradition is trying out different recipes each of the member have come up with - not necessarily original, but with a personal twist. I have written about that story in one of my Danes Cheese Ball blog posts way back.
This year, I plan to make something very easy and yet impressive. Something that can add a "wow" factor to the Noche Buena feast. It is decided that I'll be making a cheese board - my personal twist is that I would only use Danes Cheese Ball in lieu of the usual cheeses used to curate a cheese board.
Cheese board is definitely one of my favorite party food selections. Family celebrations back home are never without it. But the thing about it is that it can sometimes burn hole in my pocket. Curating cheese board can be very expensive. Add to that the extra money and effort when someone in the family suddenly decides that a charcuterie isn't a bad addition to the cheese board. But for the love of cheese, I'll do it anyway.
So, creating a cheese board with Danes Cheese Ball is like a breath of fresh air. This creamy cheese ball with rich cheddar taste is one of my favorite ingredients to add to any dish that calls for cheese such as my family's all-time favorite cheesy caldereta, mac and cheese, grilled cheese sandwich, cheesy leche flan just to name a few.
This time, it will take center stage as the highlight of a cheese board that can surely add deliciously festive feel to our Noche Buena spread.
There is no hard and fast rule in creating a cheese board. You can add whatever cheese and other complimenting food to it that you fancy. Although there are some purist who would frown upon those which does not have certain number of variety in texture and flavor, the thing to keep in mind is that you do you, so whatever floats your boat, really.
This cheese board may not be something that purist may want to indulge in, but it can be something that can satisfy anyone who loves cheese no matter how limited that selection is. After all, we are using Danes Cheese Ball here, so we need not to worry about the taste and its quality.
I recently made a mock cheese board using Danes Cheese Ball because I want to test what other cheese board food element that goes well with it and so far I am happy with the outcome. And let me tell you a little secret. My mom who loves cheese tried the cheese board I curated and gave me her elusive nod of approval while telling me that the Danes Cheese Ball cheese board can be a yearly part of our Noche Buena feast, now that's a new and fun addition to our tradition.
Danes Cheese Ball is available in all leading supermarket nationwide.
