I think one of the many effects of this on-going community quarantine on me is the constant craving for different cuisines especially those which I rarely cook at home. If you've been a regular here on my blog (thank you!), you know for a fact that I can whip up Filipino and Korean cuisines in no time. Vietnamese cuisine on the other hand has always been an uncharted territory. So, when there is a chance to feast on one, be it in a restaurant, a party, a food delivery, I make it a point to bask on its glorious flavors.
Recently, Saigon Corner PH sent me some of their Vietnamese food offerings. With the pandemic in place, Saigon Corner PH is one of those restaurants that offers food delivery service in order for us to enjoy delicious Vietnamese food right at the comfort of our home.
Saigon Corner PH is located at Sgt. Esguerra in Quezon City. I haven't been to their restaurant but when situation permits, it is one of those restaurants on top of my list that I should visit. They offer variety of Vietnamese cuisine prepared by Chef Trung who is said to be trained and proven in Vietnam and Japan.
One of the food item they sent me was their Summer Roll. It's a classic Vietnamese Fresh Rolls filled with vegetables, pork, and shrimp. It was fresh, flavorful and pretty straightforward.
Next was the Coconut Chicken Pho. I am not too crazy about shredded coconut on savory food in general, but this one works well. I love how generous each and every component are which guarantees that this dish alone can fill you up in no time.
Then there's also the Flying Sea Bass. An interactive dish that boasts of flavor and texture in an impressive level.
To enjoy this dish, you just a piece of rice wrapper, roll it in ice to soften it a bit, then add lettuce, a chunk of fish, the green sauce called cilantro chili lime, herbs, green mango, then roll the entire thing, dip it on the vinaigrette it comes with then enjoy each and every bit. It's basically like eating Korean samgyeupsal only this one involves fish.
Judging on the freshness and flavors of these dishes I enjoyed, I deem Saigon Corner PH is one of those Vietnamese restaurant I would definitely enjoy. Hence, I am looking forward to visiting them soon. If you are into Vietnamese food, I suggest you give Saigon Corner PH a try.
