I celebrated my birthday recently. While we are still getting the hang of this confining new normal we call our reality, I still am thankful that regardless if we cannot party like we used to, there are things that can make an otherwise lackluster moment, golden.
I never would have guessed that an ice cream brand from way way back my grandparent's childhood - a staple ice cream brand in every celebration there was and there is, could still make a good impact and jazz up a downright simple home celebration. I am talking about Magnolia and their new Magnolia Gold Label Ice Cream.
Magnolia has been with us since 1925 and the word complacent is not in their vocabulary. Because just when we thought that it is time to move on and try other ice cream brands sprouting all over the market, Magnolia keeps on reinventing itself to reach its golden standard. And for that reason alone, people who were led astray comes around in the creamy rich and velvety smooth comfort Magnolia is known for.
This time, their new Magnolia Gold Label Ice Cream holds the promise of creamier ice cream made with fresh carabao's milk devoid of artificial flavors.
As Magnolia take their ice cream to the next level, expect that you can still enjoy the classic favorites and be enthralled with new flavors that are equally well-worth indulging.
Some of the flavors I have enjoyed recently includes their Wintermelon Milk Tea which I deem a good treat for those who has an affinity for both ice cream and milk tea. The marriage of the two components was a match made in heaven.
One of my personal favorites was the Taro White Cheese. It has a delicate flavor that matches well with its velvety creamy texture. At first, I thought the taro was so subtle the distinct saltiness of the white cheese overpowers it. But as I took spoonful after spoonful, I knew it was there. This flavor was never meant to assault the senses, but rather to greet you with its nuances, like a slow dance.
The classic and well-loved Cookies and Cream is still as enticing as it was - only this time, it is richer and even more delightful for both kids and kids at heart.
The Avocado Macchiato is a trifecta of flavors which combination is as interesting as its name suggest. Though not really an uncharted territory as there are some coffee shops bold enough to introduced the pas de trois of avocado, chocolate, and coffee to Filipino palate, this one must be thread lightly because it has the tendency to be polarizing. Love it or hate it, I suggest keep pressing on because you are in for a treat.
If you like the idea of chocolate ice cream, chocolate bits, roasted peanuts, and Skippy peanut butter, then Choco Peanut Butter flavor is definitely one flavor you should not skip. See what I did there? Seriously though, this decadent combination is like hitting several birds in one stone.
I don't know about you but nothing beats anything that is reminiscent of happy childhood memories. Especially those that reminds you of camping nights where you get to make S'mores with your friends. Needless to say, S'mores flavor is a personal favorite. Vanilla ice cream, graham cracker, marshmallow, and chocolate - what's not to love?
Aside from the ones I mentioned, there are other flavors that the new Magnolia Gold Label Ice Cream boasts of such as Double Dutch, Rocky Road, Quadruple Chocolate, Tablea Yema, Mango Dark Chocolate, and Kesong Puti. All of these I can see myself indulging in the near future.
Now the good news is that they are having a Christmas promo just in time to make our holiday celebrations, well, golden. From November 1 until December 31, 2021, you can get a 1.3L tub of Magnolia Gold Label Ice Cream for only Php295 only. Sweet!
