With the events that happened in my life in the recent past, I got caught up in dealing with things as it happen that for a moment, I lost my usual enthusiasm to new things to try food-wise. It was my nephews who introduced me to The Fried Chicken Ice Cream one time when we were at Newport Mall.
I literally don't have any idea that it's actually a thing, The Fried Chicken Ice Cream. I've been away from social media for far too long I've missed out on a lot. So when we chanced upon Dessert Club's pop-up that sells this interesting creation, I got some for us to try.
Of course, my nephews were elated but I was skeptical. I've had Bacon Ice Cream at Crowne Plaza's Seven Corners Restaurant and it was downright amazing. But fried chicken? I wasn't sure what to expect that time.
My Nephews enjoying The Fried Chicken Ice Cream |
Basically, The Fried Chicken Ice Cream is waffle vanilla ice cream shaped into a chicken drum stick, thanks to the chocolate wafer stick that gives its structure the integrity to hold the entire thing. It is then coated with crisp and sweet cereal bits that made it looks like a real fried chicken. And what's a fried chicken without gravy? They do have caramel sauce for that.
I can't remember how much a pop but I paid around 700+ for 5pcs including a small bucket and a bag. Not really cheap for a small pieces of ice cream, but as long as my nephews enjoyed it, I don't really mind.
Personally, I find it delicious and fun to look at. Nothing special about the flavor, I guess you are paying for the novelty of it. We can have better ice cream for its price, but still kudos for creativity.
Will I buy it again? Only if my nephews asked me to.
