My nephew is very fond of Filipino food. When dining out, he's the one to suggest to try Filipino restaurants we have not yet. This time, we tried Theo & Miguel Restaurant in Robinsons Place Antipolo. I have not heard of this restaurant before so, I have no idea what to expect.
The food options on their menu is very limited, which makes me a bit apprehensive. In my mind I'm already thinking of the next restaurant to hit once I didn't like whatever we're having at Theo & Miguel.
Good thing we did give this restaurant a try because not only they offer decent dishes, their serving portion is fit for the price of their food. Let's be honest, there are a lot of restaurants that are so expensive but their serving portion seems so unfair it makes us feel we're ripped off. Theo & Miguel is one of those which gives a bang for your buck.
My father and my nephew, amazed at how big the Fish & Chips serving was. |
Honestly I find it expensive considering it tasted a tad bland and just like something you can whip up at home for much lesser price. Not my favorite and will probably not order it again.
Our first order was a bit of a let down. But what comes next were thankfully good enough it made me realize it's a good thing that we tried Theo and Miguel.
Next on the table was their Fish & Chips (Php649) It is a combination of lightly breaded fish and homemade potato chips. Aside from its remarkable serving portion, I love the herby taste of this dish. I just wish they could add more lemon wedges a thin slice wouldn't just do it. I really love the homemade potato chips that comes with it. Next time, I am coming for their Loaded Potato Chips.
Then, we also had their Baby Back Ribs Adobo (Php549) which is basically slabs of baby back ribs served with Angus rice and 2 eggs. This dish could be perfect if the meat is fork tender, but it wasn't. Nonetheless the flavor was good - kinda reminds me of how my late mother would cook her adobo. My nephew loves this but also commented that the tenderness could be better. I will definitely order this again on our next visit.
I wasn't able to capture it on my camera but we did order for their Java Rice Platter (Php189) which my father really liked. The Angus rice that comes with the Baby Back Ribs Adobo was good also good which made my nephew finish it all by himself.
All in all, it was a great experience we had at Theo & Miguel. The service was also impressive so that's another reason why I would love to revisit again. And for sure, I'll bring the rest of our family next time because they will surely love it.
Theo & Miguel Restaurant is located at Level 2 Eat Street of Robinsons Place, Antipolo City.
