Happy Lemon Delivers Now via City Delivery

This is the second post for my Yeah! Delicious Monday Good News, a three-part series of my attempt to combat the usual Monday blues by sharing good news to my readers.  Nothing beats hearing good news on Mondays, well aside of course when it’s a holiday (which rarely happens on a Monday).  I have to stop blabbing and share with you now the

Yeah! Delicious Monday Good News # 2!

I have mentioned in my previous post how Happy Lemon rocked my world.  I love Happy Lemon.  Purely and utterly.  I love it so much I wouldn’t mind if I’ll be appointed as Happy Lemon Philippines’ Ambassadress to the world.

As a matter of fact, I can have a relationship with each of their yummy drinks.  So when I learned that they have already partnered with City Delivery, it made me all the more happy. Seriously, my baby never fails to make me happy.

I live basically just a stone’s throw away from Greenhills San Juan where Happy Lemon’s flagship store is located, but apparently, I don’t have all the time in the world to visit the place for my Happy Lemon fix.

Good thing that Happy Lemon has now partnered with City Delivery.  I can now enjoy Happy Lemon’s Yummy Drinks at the comfort of my home.

However, their Rock Salt and Cheese variants are not available for delivery.  Bummer, I know.  Happy Lemon believes that Rock Salt and Cheese drinks are best drank right after being served, so it is only available at their stores.

It’ll be awesome if the variants can be delivered, but hey, Happy Lemon just wants to make sure that they are serving quality yummy drinks to us, so we should be a little forgiving about that.  After all, there are lots of yummy drinks we can still choose from to be delivered right at our door steps.

So, you what are you waiting for? Dial City Delivery 87878 or visit their website at citydelivery.ph to have Happy Lemon yummy drinks delivered at your home.  And while you're at it, you may want to check out City Delivery's Foodie Delivery wherein you can have those good food at Mercato Centrale delivered to you as well.

Best Deals On Sale 2011

It’s Monday and I know some of us are pretty much bummed out with the idea that Monday is usually a start of another work/school week.  Needless to say, most of us consider Mondays as the least favorite day in a week.  In my case, in desperate attempt not to be swayed by this “Manic Monday Madness” ideology, I usually make a conscious effort to look for some good news which can somehow make my Mondays bearable.

Good news on a Monday? Yeah! Delicious!

I am thinking of doing this on a regular basis instead of the usual 365 days challenge where I normally suck, but let’s see.

For today I’ll be sharing three different good news in three different posts.

Yeah! Delicious Monday Good News # 1.

This may not be food related, but like what I’ve mentioned when I shared with you my Sweet Charity post, delicious life constitute of many things.  Shopping on sale/ discounted prize is definitely one of the things that make life delicious!

Chihuahua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar

When the invitation read “The Best Margaritas in Town”, I texted foodie friend Manila Boy, Spanky Enriquez at a breakneck speed to count me in.  Good thing my schedule that night was cleared because there isn’t a snowball chance in the desert that I’ll be missing this foodie night out at Chihuahua Mexican Grill and Margarita bar.

Truth be told, when it comes to beers, I have an alcohol tolerance of an infant.  But when it’s margaritas we are talking about, baby it’s a different story.  I was thinking that I was all set for the night holding my glass of margarita, also called Chihuahuarita, handed to me when I came in at the resto.  Little did I know, the best tasting margaritas in town that I gulped down with a little admixture of infatuation and wholesome malice towards it, was just an icing on the cake.

Margarita / Chihuahuarita!

Owned by Ines Cabarrus and Elian Habayeb, authors of the book “Manila’s Best Kept Restaurant Secrets”, Chihuahua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar is one Tex-Mex resto you wouldn’t want to miss if you’re into good Tex-Mex food and good times.

Gorgeous couple, Elian and Ines, owner of Chihuahua

First thing we feasted on was a bowl of Nacho Chips with three different kinds of dips.  Cheese sauce was the first dip which grabbed my attention.  It looked innocent enough, so I dig in with much gusto.  Its creaminess was the first thing that greeted me.  But as Spanky would aptly put it, “this one is a traitor.”  Enjoy the creaminess while it lasts because the kick of spiciness at the end lingers.  The other one was Habanero Salsa which was a marriage of sour and spicy flavor.  Last one which looked like Chili Con Carne to me was downright spicy, the meanest of the three.

Their Nacho Bowl which was served in an aluminum bowl was fantastic.  On top of crunchy nacho chips was a rowdy mixture of chili con carne, guacamole, pico de gallo, beans, jalapeno, cheese sauce, and the whole she bangs, all screaming its distinct taste of its own which blends perfectly with each other.

I have tasted Steak Burrito in other Mexican Restaurant / Bar but nothing comes close to the glory that Chihuahua’s Steak Burrito holds.  The slices of grilled steak were so meaty and flavorful since they use USDA beef.  It may not as big as the one they sell in restaurants which boast of gigantic burritos but Chihuahua’s version was enough to satisfy big appetites.

Chicken Burrito Bowl was one of the many reasons why I will go back to Chihuahua.  To say that it was so good would be an understatement.  Yes, it was just burrito without the tortilla bread, but I kid you not when I say that it’s the experience of digging your spoon into the bowl of good gracious goodness wherein the moist grilled chicken was nestled that makes this dish good.

I may not be a fan of beer but Chihuahua’s Michelada was worth a try.  A combination of beer, Worcestershire sauce, seasoning sauce, and hot sauce.  Interesting combination, interesting flavor.  Aside from hard to find soft drinks, (e.g. Fanta, A&W Vanilla Cream, Cherry Coke and Cherry 7-UP) they also offer imported beers.

Hot sauce is one of the things that will cross your mind when we talk about Tex-Mex food.  Chihuahua is serious about that.

It’s not as if these hotties were not enough…

But they also have Hot Sauce Library.  And it’s not as if their Hot Sauce Library was not enough…

They have their own homemade hot sauce!  Foodies, meet Charlie Sheen Crazy Sauce.  The other one which doesn’t have a label at that time was, yes you got that right, Emilio Estevez Jock Sauce.  Clever, eh?  Next time I will definitely try their Krazy Mother Pucker’s Hot Sauce

More than the good food, great sound, happy ambiance, it’s the warm welcome that what makes Chihuahua Mexican Grill and Margarita Bar different from any other restaurants I’ve been to.  Friends who visited the place have same stories how welcoming Ines and Elian were, aside from the staff.

Their menu maybe limited but good way to look at it is that everything on it is a sure hit to the palate.  We told Ines that they could add choices of desserts on the menu as a change to the usual spicy line up they offer, and we were told that they are working on it. Although new to the industry, Chihuahua is fast becoming everyone’s favorite in terms of good food, good service, and good times.

Yummy Magazine Cooking Demo

Last week I was invited by Summit Media to attend Yummy Magazine’s Cooking Demo which showcases Asian-inspired dishes sponsored by Knorr.  The cooking demo happened last Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Robinson’s Galleria Supermarket led by Knorr Chef Tristan Encarnacion and Yummy’s very own, Chef Angelo Comsti

Chef Tristan, DJ Ingrid, and Chef Angelo

The event which was hosted by DJ Ingrid Nieto of Mellow 94.7 was very interactive, as the participants were encouraged to throw in some questions while the chefs do the works.  Cooking equipments were provided by Fujidenzo and Masflex by Maxim.

Six dishes was showcased, two of which was prepared by Chef Angelo Comsti and can be found at Yummy Magazine’s August 2011 issue. The other four was done by Chef Tristan Encarnacion using Knorr products.

These are just some of the food the chefs presented.

Fresh Chicken Rolls

Crispy Laing Pockets

Chicharon Rice

Pork Adobo sa Gata

Clay Pot Chicken and Rice

All of the dishes presented were not just easy to make but savory as well.  I am one of those who use Knorr products whenever I am cooking, and I am happy to learn new recipes I could try.  Aside from sampling the dishes, registered participants were delighted when exciting prizes were raffled off such as Yummy Magazine’s tote bags and cute aprons, Knorr gift packs, and a frying pan from Masflex.  The fun doesn’t ends there as Yummy gave participants back issues of their Magazine at the end of the program.

It was an afternoon filled with fun, delicious food, surprises, and new recipes, all thanks to Summit Media, Yummy Magazine, and Knorr.

Hail Louis XV!!!

No, I am not talking about the Well Beloved King Louis XV of France, but the chocolate crisp, ganache, praline bar named after him, created by Chef Alain Ducasse.  There are only two restaurants in the entire world that serve this heavenly bar:  Alain Ducasse’s 3 star Michelin restaurant in Monte-Carlo, Le Louis XV, and Enderun’s Restaurant 101 here in the Philippines.

Made up of Hazelnut praline meringue, luscious chocolate mousse, and silky smooth chocolate ganache, this bar is one of the meanest chocolate desserts I’ve ever had.  And as if the lusciousness of the entire bar is not enough, three edible gold leaves nestled on top of it, exuding a royally dignified stance yet seductive.  Seducing one to consume the entire bar with such passion.

It reminds me of Ferrero Rocher Chocolate in terms of taste, only sexier, richer, and downright lovelier to the palate.  It is said to be sold at EUR 26 in Monte Carlo, but here, if you have 200+ on your wallet, then you’re on a roll.

Restaurant 101 is located at Enderun Colleges, 1100 Campus Avenue McKinley Hill, For Bonifacio, Taguig City 1634 Philippines. For inquiries and reservation, you can contact them at (632) 8565000 local 101. You can also visit their website at http://101.enderuncolleges.com
